One of the 'must do' things in Cairns? Emma thought we should give it a go.
Emma got up early and went to book some tickets for us, and then kept the details a secret (at least from the kids). We had to be on the Kuranda train from Freshwater station at 0930
The trip was fun and informative going up with lots of historical titbits shared on the train AV system throughout the journey. There was lots of spectacular views also - mountains, sea, waterfalls etc and the kids were glued to their cameras for a while. Isaac particularly barely had his eye off the back of his viewfinder.
After a pretty good lunch, we had a bit of a play around in the park while Emma caught up on a bit more knitting. We picked up a few ice creams at the supermarket, but they weren't quite what Isaac was looking for...What followed was a long and ultimately fruitless search for the right one, as when he finally remembered the shop he had seen it in, it was closed! Thus - an afternoon of "what I didn't get" ensued.
We had about an hour before we had to be on the Skyrail, so we headed out into the bush for a walking loop that took us through the rainforest and back to the station. It took us 45min to complete the loop and about 40min for Isaac to let go of the pain of something lost. Sascha was a trooper, helping Dom along the track with a rocket boost every so often.

The Skyrail was amazing, it was so lovely to be skimming along the tops of the trees with views all around. We hopped off twice to go for a little walk to a couple of lookouts. The view over
